A large-monitor premium cart for multi-species practice
The Vetus 8 is Mindray’s premium cart-based veterinary ultrasound. The most visible difference from the entry model is the display: a 23.8-inch LED monitor at 1920x1080 on a 180-degree rotating arm, paired with a 13.3-inch anti-glare touch screen that rotates 30 degrees and accepts multi-finger gestures.
Five active transducer sockets are the other practical difference. In a mixed practice that scans cats, dogs, horses and cattle on the same day, leaving five probes connected removes the repeated unplugging that wears connectors and costs time.
Mindray’s imaging aids are included: iClear for structure-aware contrast improvement, iTouch for one-touch optimisation in B and PW, and Auto PW, Auto CW and Auto EF for measurements. iStation handles animal records on the system, while iStorage and the Medsight app move images and reports to a PC or phone over wired or wireless network.

What is the difference from the Vetus 9?
The 8 runs on Mindray’s earlier platform with iClear and iTouch. The 9 adds the ZST+ platform with channel-based processing, raw data storage, STE shear-wave elastography and TT QA. Both have a 23.8-inch monitor and five transducer sockets.
How many probes can stay connected?
Five active smart transducer sockets, which is the practical argument for a mixed practice that scans several species in one day.
What is included for cardiology?
Auto EF and Auto PW/CW measurement, plus the phased array transducers P8-2s, P10-4s and P4-2s for different animal sizes. Mindray sets PW, CW and TDI volume off by default so animals are not startled.
Can images be sent to a phone?
Yes. Medsight is Mindray’s app for iOS and Android that transfers clinical images, cines and reports over WiFi. iStorage transfers to a PC over wired or wireless network.
How is the cart cleaned between animals?
Mindray specifies an anti-dirty control panel that rotates and adjusts in height, a sliding keyboard with a silicon cover, transducer cable management and 360-degree wheels.
