A 5-part analyzer for small and medium laboratory workload
The Mindray BC-5380 is an automated hematology analyzer that reports a complete blood count and a 5-part white blood cell differential - 27 parameters in total, including LIC and ALY. A CBC+DIFF report is produced from 20 uL of whole blood in about one minute, and a CBC-only test needs 15 uL, which keeps the analyzer usable for pediatric and difficult-draw patients.
Throughput is specified at up to 60 samples per hour with the autoloader and up to 50 samples per hour in closed-tube mode. The 30-tube autoloader supports random access for continuous loading, and an independent closed-tube and capillary compartment lets STAT and capillary samples be run without interrupting the routine queue.
The differential uses flow cytometry with semi-conductor laser scatter for forward and side scatter, combined with a patented cluster algorithm.
