The Mindray BC-20 is an auto hematology analyzer that reports a complete blood count with a 3-part white blood cell differential, covering lymphocytes, mid-size cells and granulocytes. It reports 20 parameters with 3 histograms and is specified at up to 40 samples per hour, a throughput matched to small laboratories, clinics and satellite testing rooms rather than high-volume central laboratories.
Sampling is deliberately low-volume: 9 uL of whole blood, or 20 uL in prediluted mode. That makes the analyzer suitable for pediatric and capillary-type testing where drawing a larger sample is undesirable. Counting uses the impedance method for WBC, RBC and PLT, with a cyanide-free hemoglobin measurement.
